HeadStart, an innovative volunteering programme aimed to up-skill and empower young people for further education and employment. With the help of our fantastic corporate partners, HeadStart hopes to inspire a new generation of volunteers and provide a significant benefit to society by connecting young people to local volunteering opportunities and providing a guaranteed job interview to those who commit over 16 hours of their time.
HeadStart can help you in so many ways. Whether you are thinking about going to University, into work, taking up an apprenticeship, or just want to improve your general confidence and experience for the future, HeadStart has something to offer you. You will gain skills and experience, get a guaranteed job interview, make a difference and expand your horizons!
No, unfortunately we cannot guarantee you a job! What we can guarantee is that if you volunteer more than 16 hours in your community, you will be invited to interview for a job if you want to. There are a variety of high quality, entry level, part-time jobs and paid work placements available to HeadStart participants.
Where possible, we encourage HeadStart volunteers to complete their 16 hours at the same placement as this way both yourself and the charity will gain the most from the experience. However, if you find yourself in a circumstance where you can't complete the hours at one placement you can find somewhere else to volunteer and contact us with the details.
HeadStart has 2 intakes to the programme with applications open in July/August with volunteering deadline of 23rd September and October with a volunteering deadline of 25th February.
